RIVIERA (CPB Twyford) |
| An excellent combination of reasonable yield, long straw and good mildew resistance has made Riviera a very popular feed option. It also has very bold grain and therefore high specific weights.

WAGGON (New Farm Crops) |
| Waggon is the highest yielding and one of the most consistent varieties available. With it’s average straw height it has good resistance to lodging. It is late maturing and is relatively weak on Rhynchosporium and yellow rust, however it has good resistance to Brown Rust and Mildew.

COCKTAIL (Syngenta) |
| Cocktail looks very promising as one of the highest yielding varieties available. The straw is short and very stiff. However, it does not appear to have the universal acceptance in the malting market but will suit some end users.

NFC TIPPLE (Syngenta) |
| NFC Tipple has a 3% yield advantage over Cocktail. It has short stiff straw and good resistance to brackling. This variety is proving a popular variety with some UK malting barley outlets.

OPTIC (Syngenta) |
| Optic is fully accepted as a malting type and has dominated the malting market. Good quality is combined with a reasonably good yield potential. It has medium length, moderately stiff straw but is susceptible to brackling. Late to mature and weak on Rhynchosporium.
